Portrait of a Dad

A dad and his son concentrate on painting a Picasso-style face“He can who thinks he can and he can’t who thinks he can’t.” This philosophy of Picasso’s was taught to 33 children and their 20 fathers last Sunday 11th March 2012 at a “How To Draw” workshop, themed around the great artist. Just how many thought they could wasn’t clear, but there were plenty of visually appealing results. Facial proportions were taught before attendees were given free reign to bend the rules and create their own versions of cubic art. Colourful, ¬†fascinating and fun. Our thanks to the Elmley Small Grants Arts Fund for supporting the event, to Paul Priestley for running the workshop, to St Weonard’s School for providing the venue, and to Meghan Hopkins for photographing the morning session.
